- 3 sausages Italian sausage, chicken sausage, or your favorite type, sliced
- 1 lb Brussels sprouts trimmed and halved
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes optional, for heat
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or basil chopped (for garnish)
Roast the Brussels Sprouts
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Toss the halved Brussels sprouts with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
Spread them out on a baking sheet and roast for 20-25 minutes, tossing halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Cook the Sausage
While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the Gnocchi
In the same skillet, add the gnocchi and cook over medium heat until the gnocchi is lightly browned and crispy on the edges, about 3-5 minutes.
Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
Add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet with the gnocchi and sauté for 1 minute, until fragrant.
Return the cooked sausage to the skillet and toss everything together.
Add the roasted Brussels sprouts and stir to combine.
Squeeze the lemon juice over the top and toss to coat.
And there you have it! Your Gnocchi with Sausage and Brussels Sprouts is ready.
This dish is perfect for a cozy dinner, combining the savory goodness of sausage and gnocchi with the crispy, caramelized Brussels sprouts. It’s a balanced meal that’s both hearty and flavorful.
A few tips from my kitchen to yours:
- For an extra crispy texture, pan-fry the gnocchi after boiling them, or buy pre-packaged skillet-ready gnocchi.
- To keep things lighter, you can use chicken or turkey sausage.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated on the stovetop.
